Abul Kalam Azad is an accomplished municipal planner and transportation specialist with more than 12 years of experience leading complex development, infrastructure, and policy planning initiatives across Alberta. As Director and Senior Transportation Planner at Aurora Planning & Engineering Ltd., Abul brings a unique dual background in urban planning and civil engineering, enabling him to bridge the gap between technical design, policy frameworks, and long-term municipal growth.

Abul has led over 20 major infrastructure and development projects in rapidly growing communities, including subdivision planning, transportation master planning, land-use policy development, and multidisciplinary infrastructure coordination.

Known for his evidence-based approach and strong analytical skills, Abul routinely evaluates complex development applications, prepares planning reports for Councils, and leads public engagement processes involving diverse stakeholders.
